Direct Support Professional Enhancement

The Direct Support Professional Enhancement (DSPE) program provides enhanced information for Direct Support Professionals. This program is designed for staff who have completed the basic training but need additional instruction in specific areas. Courses are comprised of two or more 15-minute lessons. Trainers have the flexibility of individualizing training by assigning lessons as needed. 

Curriculum content

  • This course provides essential information on the key elements of advocacy. The course includes 3 lessons: Self Determination, Self Advocacy, and Role of an Ally.

The course is comprised of 3 lessons: Functional Sign Language, Picture Communication Systems, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems.
